Schwartz, Marken

Whitney Schwartz and Michael Marken were married Dec. 5, 1998, at the Carmel Mission. A reception followed at La Playa Hotel in Carmel.

The bride is the daughter of Holly Petrocchi and Steve Schwartz of Sacramento. She earned a bachelor's degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

The groom is the son of Marilyn and Bill Marken of Los Altos. He graduated from St. Francis High School in Mountain View and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

The couple lives in Mountain View.

Turner, Penn

Laura Leigh Turner and John David Penn were married May 29 at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. A reception followed at the home of the groom's parents.

The bride is the daughter of Jackson and Suzanne Turner of Bloomington, Ind.

She graduated from the surgical tech. program at Bloomington Hospital and works at Stanford University Medical Center.

The groom is the son of Gene and Carol Penn of Los Altos Hills.

He graduated from Los Altos High School and earned a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University.

The couple lives in Redwood City.

Black, Berman

Jessica Berman and Stephen Felder Black Jr. announce their engagement and plan to be married in June 2000.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jack Moore and Bonnie Slavitt Moore of Mountain View.

She graduated from Los Altos High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta.

The groom-to-be is the son of Rosalind Black and the late Stephen Felder Black Sr. of Dallas.

He received a bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta.

The couple will live in Texas.
