All three of the Los Altos City Council members who complete a four-year term this fall have said they will be running for re-election.
"Of course," said Francis La Poll, 40. "I'm looking forward to it. I enjoyed it last time. I enjoyed meeting people."
He said it was too early to comment on issues he sees for the next four years.
July 12 was the first day to take out papers for the fall election. Aug. 6 is the filing deadline.
Mayor Lou Becker, 64, also said he would seek re-election.
Even though retirement is in his thoughts, it's not on his calendar, he said. "I like staying busy, to make a contribution."
Kris Casto, 52, will be in the race, too. "We have so many positive things going on," she said.
She said she didn't have one particular concern she sees ahead. But she does want the city to respond to some of the issues identified by the city's youth commission.
The youth commission's first year has been "quite productive," Casto said. "They say drug and alcohol abuse is a problem. I want to listen to that."
Looking back at her first four years on the council, she said that now "the council is working well together. Meetings are very respectful with a reaching out to get the different points of view."
So far no one else has stepped forward as a candidate.
