Palo Alto Post 375 qualifies for tourney

Palo Alto Post 375 failed to beat first-place Monta Vista last week, but the American Legion baseball team is still heading to the postseason.

Post 375, which features high school players from Los Altos, Mountain View and Palo Alto, finished second in District 13 with an 11-4 record. The district's top two teams qualify for the Area 2 Tournament, which starts today in Lafayette.

Post 375 fell 14-8 to Monta Vista in the July 14 league finale at Palo Alto High.

Gunn High products Tyler Sullivan and Eric Zweig each had three hits for Post 375.
