Chefs Who Care visits Mac's

Chefs Who Care, a program of the Community Services Agency, will visit Mac's American Grill from 5:30-7 p.m., Sunday and Tuesday. Mac's American Grill is located at 325 Main St., in Los Altos.

The menu will include your choice of one entry of veal cannelloni, Pacific snapper or champagne chicken.

The cost is $18 for adults who prepay by Thursday. Price at the door is $20 and price includes gratuity. Half the dinner cost is donated to the Food Nutrition Center and is tax deductible.

Hidden Villa closed for camps

Hidden Villa, a 1,600-acre environmental education camp and wilderness preserve in Los Altos Hills, will be closed to the general public through Aug. 21 while its summer camp program is in session.

The preserve, located on Moody Road, will be open on select weekends during the summer for guided farm tours and use of hiking trails.

The preserve will be open to the public this Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 949-8650.

Twelve Acres program shown in home movies

The History House of Los Altos will be offering a 50-minute program of 1930s home movies featuring the Twelve Acres Estate area of Los Altos. The event will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m., Sunday, at the Los Altos Main Library, 13 S. San Antonio Road, in Los Altos.

The program, which will feature people and events from that era, was compiled by Bob Golden. Admission is free. For more information about the program, call 948-9427.

Wine tasting event for Yellowstone buffalo

Los Altos Hills resident Nancy Couperus invites the public to a wine tasting at Page Mill Winery followed by a presentation by advocates for the Yellowstone buffalo from 4-6 p.m., Sunday. Page Mill Winery is located at 13686 Page Mill Road. Couperus lives next door at 13680 Page Mill Road. Cost is $25 per person. For more information, call 941-4808.

Music for minors recruits docents

Music For Minors docents visit classrooms once a week during the school year and the organization is recruiting volunteers for 1999-2000. The docents share songs, games, rhythm instruments, music appreciation and movement activities with students.

LA History House seeks volunteers

The Los Altos History House is recruiting volunteers to staff its new education center that is now under construction. The History House will offer training from 1-3 p.m. and 3-5 p.m., Aug. 18. Docents will work one afternoon a month. For more information, call 948-9427.
