Beginning Aug. 24, Hidden Villa in Los Altos Hills reopens to the public Tuesdays through Sundays, from 9 a.m. until dusk. The farm has been closed since June while its summer camp programs were in progress.
Hidden Villa is a farm and wilderness preserve offering programs which promote environmental awareness and multicultural understanding.
Guided visits with the farm animals are offered on Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. There is a $5 parking fee for visitors.
Autumn activities include Bug and Animal Tales with Yolanda Rhodes, Aug. 28; Stories and Music with Kevin Carr, Sept. 11; A Puppet Show with The Johnson Brothers, Sept. 26; Halloween Haunts, Oct. 29 and 30; and Campfire Stories with Ane Rovetta, Nov. 12. Music for minors recruits docents
Music For Minors docents visit classrooms once a week during the school year and the organization is recruiting volunteers for 1999-'00. The docents share songs, games, rhythm instruments, music appreciation and movement activities with students. Volunteers need not be trained musicians but must be able to sing on pitch and be available during the day.

Twelve Acres memories sought
The oral history program of the Los Altos History House Museum is looking for current or past residents with personal memories or historic records of Twelve Acres, Inc., from 1924 to 1970, and prior to the fire in 1960.
The original Twelve Acres mansion was located at the Adobe Creek end of Pine Lane.

LA History House seeks volunteers
The Los Altos History House is recruiting volunteers to staff its new education center that is now under construction. The History House will offer training from 1-3 p.m. and 3-5 p.m., Aug. 18. Docents will work one afternoon a month on Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday.

Underground opens doors
The Los Altos Recreation Department's drop-in teen center, the Underground, is open this summer for students in grades 7-12 during the 1999-2000 school year.
The Underground is located in the basement of the Garden House at Shoup Park, 400 University Ave., Los Altos. The facility has pool and ping-pong tables, a big screen TV, and food and drinks for purchase. The Underground is supervised by city recreation staff.

The American Red Cross in Palo Alto, has initiated a vehicle donation program to generate funds for disaster preparedness and health and safety services in the community.
