The fund provides grants of up to $5,000 to individuals whose art is culturally diverse, inner-city focused, or indigenous to the Peninsula. The application deadline is 5 p.m., Sept. 3. Varian Medical reports 3-Q results Varian Medical Systems Inc, a member of the Town Crier Stock Index, reported substantial growth in net orders and sales for the third quarter, its first full quarter as a stand-alone medical business. "We are pleased with the earnings performance of the company," said Richard M. Levy, CEO and president of the company. "Our sales and net orders hit all-time highs for a third quarter." Varian is projecting similar revenue growth for the remainder of the fiscal year. McGuinness receives administrator award Tara S. McGuinness, administrator of Pilgrim Haven Retirement Community in Los Altos, has been named 1998 Administrator of the Year for American Baptist Homes of the West. The award has been presented since 1988 to administrators showing exemplary performance and dedication in their day-to-day work. "I am incredibly pleased and honored to receive this award from such an organization," McGuinness said." It is a privilege to be recognized by one's peers." |
