Art & Antiques Night is set for Thursday

The Los Altos Village Association and the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce will host its final Art & Antiques Night of the year 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday.

The free event features visits to 10 art galleries, antique shops and related stores in Los Altos.

"This event offers many new demonstrations and opportunities to meet local artists," said Jean Warren, chairwoman of the Art & Antiques Night.

"In addition, the event features a variety of art and techniques new to the Art & Antiques Night."

Each gallery and shop participating in the event will be marked with yellow balloons. Refreshments will be available at various locations.

Award-winning artist Jean Warren will host a watercolor demonstration at Viewpoints Gallery, 315 State St.

The gallery invites visitors to contribute a brush stroke to a community painting that will be completed by gallery artists.

Alexander Dzigurski II will provide a two-hour demonstration and explanation of oil painting at the ZYT Galerie, 923 N. San Antonio Road.

Visitors to Gallery 9, 143 Main St., can meet Robert Schick, who will show the development of a still life, from sketch to final image.

At FASTFRAME, 371 State St., Millie Gallo will demonstrate art she describes as the "Serendipity Series of colorful happy accidents."

At the Sunbird Gallery, visitors can see demonstrations on painting with oil and clay sculpture by Ingrid Jackson-MacDonald.

Sunbird Gallery is located at 333 First St.

Paintings by the more than 40 artists who participated in this summer's "Paint the Town" event will be debuted at the Marjolaine Bakery, located at 134 Main St.

Other attractions include:

Demonstrations and displays by students of the J. Packard Art Studio, 950 N. San Antonio Road.

Klutz Pipe-Cleaner art at Linden Tree Children's Records & Books, 170 State St.

Origami at Lin's Toy Cupboard, 237-A State St.

Antiques and a demonstration in hand-making paper at William Marcus, 390 State St.
