A field of 144 golfers took part in the 10th annual Los Altos Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, held Aug. 16 at Los Altos Golf & Country Club.

"Ideal weather, a sell-out tournament and the very generous sponsors combined to make this event such an outstanding success," said Patsy Ouye, who co-chaired the tournament with Steve Anderson

The hole-in-one prizes - a BMW Z3 Roadster and a Nissan Xterra - went unclaimed, but there were plenty of winners.

First-place honors in the scramble format went to the team of Blair Philip, John Bentley, Jim Kavalaris and Dick McCaffrey. Russ Stanley and Jeff Janda captured top honors in the two-person best ball category. Don LaBarre won the closest to the pin contest, while prizes for the longest drive went to Jeff Culbertson and Sally Anderson. The chipping contest was won by Randy Blaich, and Steve Hunton won the putting contest.

The awards reception held on the clubhouse patio included a silent auction and prize drawings.

Bank of Los Altos was the major corporate sponsor of the event along with three hosting corporate sponsors - Armadillo Willy's, Chef Chu's and Diversified Capital Funding.

Funds raised by the event are used to support chamber and community programs.
