Nine nine ninety-nine isn't just another date for Gallery 9, the artists' co-op at 143 Main St., Los Altos. The public is invited to join the artists at a "Nines party" at 5 p.m., Sept. 9.

Gallery 9 will open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on that day. Just before 9 p.m., artists and guests will step outside to hear the plaza clock across the street ring in the final "9."

Recent etchings by Elaine Rothwell and sculptures by Kirsten Stein will be the featured exhibit, running to Sept. 25.

Stein's sculptures are abstract and cast in bronze, stone and other metals.

Regular Gallery hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and l-4 p.m. Sunday.

The exhibit may be previewed through "State of the Arts" at www.soarts.com/gallery9.
