LASD discusses boundaries

The Los Altos School District Board of Trustees is scheduled to discuss proposed boundaries at 7 p.m., Sept. 21 in the multipurpose room at Springer School, 1120 Rose Ave., in Mountain View. The trustees plan to make a final decision in October after the demographer releases more accurate enrollment numbers for this academic year.

A copy of the map board members will use as the basis of their discussion may be picked up after 8 a.m.,Thursday at the district office, 201 Covington Rd. in Los Altos. For more information, call 941-4010.

MV-LA Foundation holds phon-a-thon

The Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation will hold its annual fund-raising phon-a-thon Sept. 21-22. The Foundation provides additional funds each year to the district to supplement academic programs, textbooks and equipment for science, math, English. These funds also support the Tutorial and College/Career Centers not covered by the district's budget due to cuts in state and local education funding.

Money raised through the district's $58 million bond in 1996 is designated for construction projects only.

Advisory council holds meeting

The Community Advisory Council of Los Altos High School will meet at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 22 in the Band Room at Los Altos High to introduce principal Pattie Montalbano, discuess construction, courses and staffing and review community service programs. For more information, call 949-4463.
