The Morning Forum of Los Altos is a membership lecture program held regularly at the United Methodist Church of Los Altos.

Dolly Sandoval announces candidacy
Dolores "Dolly" Sandoval, president of the Foothill-De Anza Community College Board of Trustees, has announced her campaign for Santa Clara County supervisor.
Sandoval, a Cupertino resident, is seeking the 5th District seat currently held by Joe Simitian. The 5th District includes Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Mountain View.
Simitian is not seeking re-election to the Board of Supervisors in 2000. He is eyeing a state Assembly seat.
'A Wild 3-Day Weekend' of big cats
The Cheetah Conservation Fund is presenting "A Wild 3-Day Weekend" Friday through Sunday, featuring lectures and slide presentations and presentations of the live cats themselves.
Two presentations are set for 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Sunday at Foothill College.

Info sought on old market
The oral history program of the Los Altos History House Association is looking for information about the early days of Adamant Market, the small store at 994 Los Altos Ave.
When the store was built, prior to World War II, the street was named Santa Rita.

Los Altos woman helps Floyd victims
Los Altos resident Judy Boore reported to a staging area in Atlanta Sept. 13, to assist with relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Floyd. Ms. Boore coordinated and prioritized deployment of American Red Cross mental health paid and volunteer staff into the affected areas after the storm passed.
To contribute to the disaster relief efforts, send checks to American Red Cross, 400 Mitchell Lane, Palo Alto, CA 94301. The American Red Cross does not accept in-kind donations. For more information, call 688-0425.
Federated Woman's Club to help History House
The Federated Women's Club of Los Altos will sponsor a dessert tea and "Portraits of the Past" at 1 p.m., Oct. 15 at the Garden House in Shoup Park. Members of the San Jose Historical Museums will make the presentation and all funds will go to the Educational House project.
