The Mountain View-based Community Services Agency, which serves the needy in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Mountain View, has received a big boost from Intel Corp. chief Andy Grove and his family foundation.

Donations through the end of October will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000, by a challenge grant from the Eva and Andy Grove Foundation. Contributions so far total $8,000.

"We are proud CSA provides our community with a much-needed safety net for the working poor, for the elderly, and for people who are very vulnerable in our community," said Eva Grove, the foundation's executive director. "We hope this challenge grant will encourage many others to contribute to the program."
