The Mountain View High School Music Parents Association will hold its annual garage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 2, in the faculty parking lot in front of Mountain View High School, 3535 Truman Ave. Proceeds will benefit the high school's music program. For more information, call 962-1148.
First performance by MVHS marching band
The Mountain View High School Spartan marching band and color guard will perform in full uniform for the first time this school year at 4 p.m., Saturday, in the outdoor stadium at the high school, 3535 Truman Ave.
The performance is part of their community thank-you event to the neighborhood and will include performances by other local area high school bands.
Mountain View holds youth conference
The city of Mountain View is hosting the fourth Mayor's Youth Conference from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the Civic Center Plaza in downtown Mountain View. Mayor Mary Lou Zoglin will lead the conference. The conference will provide teens the opportunity to share what they do and would like to do after school and on weekends.
Approximately 250 students from the Mountain View and Los Altos area are expected to attend.
Parents observe state's 'Walk to School' day
Parents throughout California will leave their cars at home Oct. 6 in honor of the state's "Walk a Child to School Day." Literacy program volunteers needed
The Mountain View-Los Altos Adult School is looking for volunteers for its "Literacy in the Garden" and "Literacy in the Classroom" programs this fall.
