A book discussion on "The Handmaid's Tale" will be held at 7:30 tonight in the Los Altos Library in the Program Room.

The lecture scheduled for tonight on the San Francisco Opera season has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m., Oct. 27. Both events are free.

The Los Altos Library offers free, one-on-one Internet instruction at various times throughout the week. A trained volunteer teaches a two-hour session. No prior experience is necessary. Sign-up sheets are available at the front desk.

The library needs more volunteer docents to help patrons with the new NT computers, upgraded catalogs and data bases. Docents work two hours per week. For more information, call 948-7683 ext. 3519.
