Teen Read Week, from last Sunday through Saturday, provides a focal point for year- round efforts to get older kids involved in reading beyond the classroom. This year's theme is "Reading Rocks! Read for the Fun of it!"

Two-time world champion figure skater Michelle Kwan is this year's Teen Read Week national spokeswoman.

"I absolutely love to read," she said. "It's a huge part of my life. There's no limit to where you can go and what you can do in books."

To celebrate the week, the Los Altos Library has prepared a display of prize-winning books for teens and various lists of award winners. For more information, call Larry Condit at 948-7683 ext. 3511.
