The Los Altos-Mountain View chapters of the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women are co-sponsoring a candidates' forum 7 p.m., Oct. 27, at the Los Altos City Hall Council Chambers, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

The evening's program will begin with the introduction of the new trustees of the Los Altos School District board, Margot Harrigan and David Casas; and of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District board, Mary Mason, Judy Moss and Dolores Sandoval. The schools candidates will fill these seats because there are no challengers.

All of the candidates for the Los Altos City Council election, Nov. 2, are scheduled to appear: Kris Casto, Francis Albert La Poll, Louis Becker, Ron Knecht and and Noah D. Mesel.

The forum's format includes presentations by the candidates, followed by questions from the audience and ending with summary statements by the candidates.

Literature from the candidates and the Voters Guide, non-partisan information from the League of Women Voters, will be available at the forum.

Public cable will broadcast the forum live and rebroadcast the program prior to the November election.

For more information, call the local League of Women Voters at 941-4846.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own brown-bag lunch. Dessert is available with a reservation through the Los Altos Senior Center by calling 948-1816.
