Town Crier Staff Report

Planning commissioner Charles Wong is back on the Los Altos Hills City Council agenda for the 6 p.m. meeting this Thursday.

Neighbors who created their own review committee continue to protest what they believe to be eight outstanding construction permit violations by Wong, including the removal of either one or two oak trees, questions on possible leachline violations, and a poolhouse structure. Wong has stated he has complied with official requests for meeting landscaping and grading requirements. At the council's Sept. 2 meeting, Wong said he had received final approval on all changes at his site. The council did not take action at the meeting. A statement being circulated by the Los Altos Hills Civic Association claims that "minor landscape violations on Mr. Wong's property occurred prior to his appointment to the planning commission and were rectified by him as soon as they were brought to his attention."

A special 5:15 p.m. study session prior to the regular meeting will address the lands of Kerns at 11890 Francemont Road. After having previous plans denied, Bill and Betty Kerns have requested a meeting "to obtain guidance with respect to what would be acceptable" development on their property.

The meeting will be held at Los Altos Hills Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road.
