This show marks Marangell's debut at the art center. Marangell is a graduate of St. Francis High School.Los Altos residents Elizabeth Rippetoe and Andre Umansky recently enrolled at Syracuse University in New York. Michael Austin, son of Dennis R. and Janet A. Austin of Los Altos, recently appeared in the Whitman College production of "Love's Labors Lost." Los Altos resident Tishia M. McKernan attended the Austin College Class of 1989 10-year reunion. David Shur, son of Robert D. and Paulette L. Shur of Los Altos, recently performed with the Whitman college Jazz Ensemble. Shur plays drums in the rhythm section. Robert Mibach of Los Altos, a sophomore at Santa Clara University, is spending the fall semester in Spain, through Syracuse University's Division of International Programs Abroad. Benjamin Mullen of Los Altos was among the 350 outstanding National Scholars selected to attend the six-day National Young Leaders Conference this October in Washington, D.C. During the conference, Mullen met with key leaders and newsmakers from the three branches of government, the media and the diplomatic corps. Damaris Martinez, a student at Alta Vista High School, was named September Student of the Month at the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District. Nine staff members nominated Martinez, who has made the honor roll three consecutive grading periods and has earned more than 140 academic points in four weeks.
