Tree lighting ceremony in downtown MV

Downtown Mountain View welcomes the holidays with a tree lighting ceremony from 6-8 p.m., Dec. 6, at the Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro St.

Santa will join in a sing-along, help light the tree, and have his picture taken with children. Thousands of spectacular holiday lights, live music, refreshments and a face painting booth highlight the free community event.

Speaking of Santa, he also visits Mountain View from 6-9 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 15.

Residents will have an opportunity to invite him into their homes for a 15-minute visit with children. The cost is $15 per visit.
