The Los Altos Village Association will host the annual Breakfast with Santa 9 a.m. Saturday at Joccos Restaurant at 236 Central Plaza in Downtown Los Altos.
Children and their parents will enjoy a full-course breakfast accompanied by musical entertainment, receive holiday prizes and experience the joyful arrival of Santa Claus. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera.

Carriage rides offered downtown
The Los Altos Village Association sponsors half-hour carriage rides around downtown Los Altos Thursdays through Sundays, Dec. 3-19. The turn-of-the-century carriages meet modern safety requirements and comfortably seat four-to-six adult passengers. For more information, call 949-5282.
Millennium Celebration in Los Altos
The Los Altos and Los Altos Hills Millennium Celebration is scheduled to ring in the new year and new century at 7 p.m., Dec. 31, on the grounds of the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave. Up to 1,200 people are expected to usher in the Millennium by dining on a gourmet dinner and dancing to the music of two bands. Downtown caroling from Aurora Singers
The Aurora Singers, led by John Reed and The Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers, will stroll Los Altos downtown streets and perform on corners and in front of shops during the holiday season. Costumed in Victorian attire, the Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers present new arrangements to carols and songs as well as holiday favorites.
New Year's Eve bell ringing celebration
The City of Mountain View invites revelers to ring in the new millennium at a unique New Year's Eve Bell Ringing Celebration at Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro Street.
Festivities will begin at 1l:15 p.m., and include a performance by the Bay Bells bell choir, a big screen broadcast of the official Times Square countdown, a community bell ringing celebration at midnight and refreshments.
The celebration is a non-alcoholic event sponsored by the city of Mountain View and open to everyone.
Santa appearances at Rancho
Santa is taking lists from good girls and boys, and posing for photos from his Santa House at Rancho Shopping Center, Springer Road and Foothill Expressway, Los Altos. Santa will make appearances from 1-4 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 4 p.m. weekends. From Dec. 20-24, Santa will appear noon to 4 p.m. daily.
Foothill Disposal holds 'Spirit of Sharing'
Foothill Disposal will hold its annual "Spirit of Sharing" food and toy drive through Friday in Mountain View. The drive benefits needy families served by the Community Services Agency.
Foothill Disposal employees will collect new toys, games, books, canned goods and nonperishable food items during the four-week period.
Residents may put canned goods and toys in a bag, attach a flier or mark the bag clearly with "Spirit of Sharing," and then place the donation curbside on their regularly scheduled garbage or recycling day. Special trucks will pick up the donations and deliver them to CSA for distribution within the local community.
There is a need for items for teenagers, including games, toys, books, roller skates and bicycles. Bicycles and larger donations should be dropped off at Foothill Disposal, 935 Terra Bella Ave., Mountain View.
Food donations should consist of canned, nonperishable items. No glass packaging please. Foods in short supply include canned milk, meats, fish, soups, vegetables and juices, as well as rice, pasta and peanut butter in plastic jars. All items must have their original labels.

Coldwell Banker office collecting Toys For Tots
In cooperation with the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, Coldwell Banker offices throughout Northern California will participate as "Toys for Tots" sponsors this holiday season.
The public is encouraged to participate by donating new, unwrapped toys to the collection center of the Los Altos Coldwell Banker office located at 496 First St., Suite 100.
Members of the Marine Corps Reserve will pick up the toys from the collection center and deliver them to charitable organizations and social welfare agencies in the area.
