Memorial quilts on display

The Mountain View Center for Performing Arts is displaying an exhibit of 45 AIDS Memorial Quilt panels through Jan. 4.

Nearly 43,000 colorful hand-made panels in the quilt commemorate the lives of 83,279 people lost to AIDS, approximately 20 percent of all U.S. AIDS patients.

The panels also represent the sorrow, anger, love and hope of the diverse people who created them.

The exhibit is open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. and one hour prior to any performance at the Center for Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

For more information, call 961-0342 ext. 303.
