Martin / Town Crier Staff WriterLast week San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies flew to Virginia and arrested Mark Mephem Hensley, a former Los Altos Hills resident, for the murder, 10 years ago, of his roommate Kathleen Noble. Undersheriff Greg Munks said that about six months ago Dave Noble, father of the murdered 23 year old woman, reignited the investigation with a letter to San Mateo County Sheriff Don Horsley. Noble's body was found in the trunk of an abandoned car on March 5, 1989, eight days after she was last seen at a party. Richard Billings, Los Altos Town Crier editorial assistant, remembers the Hensley family who, at the time of Noble's murder, lived in the Hills and attended Los Altos Union Presbyterian Church. Mark was one of three children of John and Gail Hensley. "They were a very normal -type family. The kids were active in the church group ... You couldn't have asked for a nicer, more normal family," Billings said. After Noble's body was discovered, the family moved back to Virginia. Munks said that Mark Hensley did not fight extradition, and that detectives will bring him back to San Mateo County. |
