Bowl picture

The bowl season is here and two college football teams featuring local players will be playing on New Year's Day. Mountain View High grad Milo Lewis will be starting at cornerback for fifth-ranked Alabama, which plays No. 8 Michigan in the Orange Bowl. The game can be seen at 5:30 p.m. on ABC. A knee injury will keep Los Altos High grad Willie Howard off the field, but his Stanford teammates will take on Wisconsin at 2 p.m. in the Rose Bowl. Stanford is ranked 22nd and Wisconsin fourth. That game also will be televised on ABC.
