Former students gather to celebrate teacher

More than 285 people gathered May 30 to honor Egan Junior High School teacher Sue Prescott, who has taught in the community for 40 years. The audience for “Miss Prescott Day” included former students, teachers, colleagues, administrators and parents.

Prescott, known as Señorita Prescott or Fräulein Prescott to her students, has taught Spanish and/or German to more than 8,000 seventh- and eighth-graders at Egan and will add to that number in the fall.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
